Motion Stops and Displays the Word "RUNNING"

Incorrect Program Format

A “running stall” can happen when the program commands a G00 move directly after a G02 / G03 move. The best way to fix this is to use a G01 or straight-line move before and after the G02 / G03 moves.

The Exact Stop Parameter Values are Incorrect

Change the values of Parameters 134 (X EXACT STOP DIST), 135 (Y EXACT STOP DIST) and 136 (Z EXACT STOP DIST).

For machines with Sigma 5 motors, change these parameters to a value of 12. For machines with Sigma 1 motors, change these parameters to a value of 3.

NOTE: To check your motor type, look at Parameter 774 X ENCODER TYPE. This parameter has a value of 0 for Sigma 1 motors or a value of 7 for Sigma 5 motors.

Known Software Issue

A stall can occur between a feed move and a rapid move with Mill software version 18.18A or lower.

Corrective Action:

Get the latest version of Mill software loaded into your machine to correct this malfunction.
